Cultural city Bhaktapur has completed the reconstruction of 4 Mangal Bazaar Hada Chen, which has been in a dilapidated condition for a long time. Hada Chen has been built in the original style according to Newari architecture.
Bhaktapur Municipality has reconstructed Hada Chen with the objective of preserving it as a city asset by purchasing it from Madan Krishna Hada in 2058 BS. According to the consumer committee, out of the estimated cost of Rs 2 crore 35 lakh for the Hada Chen reconstruction project, Rs 1 crore 71 lakh has been spent. In the program, speakers stated that due to the skill and art of 'cultural gurus' like Sikarmi and Dokarmi, Nepal's civilization, original art, and cultural heritage have been preserved and passed down to generations.
It has been emphasized that the old houses of Bhaktapur are not just residential structures, but living heritages of Nepal's history, culture, and original identity, making their preservation necessary.
The municipality has stated that special attention has been given to the preservation and reconstruction of such historic and culturally significant houses in order to preserve the traditional architecture, woodwork, and cultural forms here, which is a necessity today.
It is expected that this will also contribute to the promotion of tourism along with the preservation of cultural assets.
