The 19th annual festival of Manakamana Mai Temple located in Kabre was celebrated on Tuesday. In the festival, with the accompaniment of drums and cymbals, the idol of Manakamana goddess was decorated and placed in a chariot and taken for a procession to various places in Kabre.
During the procession, devotees carried water from Tilashwar Saraswati Kund and offered it to Manakamana, as told by Suman Poudel, the president of the committee. On the occasion of the annual festival, Guru Purohit and Pandit Baikuntha Luitel performed puja with havan. After the completion of the procession, the devotees gathered at the temple and collectively offered charu to the fire pit. There is a religious belief that if one performs puja and makes a vow here, it will be fulfilled. The local women here perform havan on the 22nd of every month. The Manakamana temple was established on Baisakh 22, 2064 BS, after the pran pratishtha, as informed by Umesh Ghimire, the secretary of the committee.
