Rasuwa — Hotel owners and local residents in the tourist area of Langtang (Gosaikunda Rural Municipality-4) are terrified following an increase in the movement of wild bears in the region.
Dindub Tamang, the Ward Chairperson of Gosaikunda Rural Municipality-4, stated that over the past few days, wild bears have been entering hotels and houses located near the Langtang trekking trails, consuming food supplies and damaging property.
According to him, the bears have increasingly been destroying food, clothing, and other essential supplies stored in hotels. With the rising presence of wildlife, locals and hotel operators are concerned about the safety of their lives and property.
Due to the heightened risk posed by wild bears along the Langtang trekking trails, Langtang National Park has urged travelers to exercise caution. The park authorities have advised trekkers not to travel alone but to move in groups of at least two or more people.
Locals state that the increased bear activity has created safety challenges for both tourists and residents. They are calling on the concerned authorities to take necessary measures to mitigate the risks posed by wildlife and ensure the safety of the local community.
