Prime Minister Balendra Shah has announced that arrangements will be made to provide land administration services through all local levels across the country within the next month. Sharing this information via social media today, he stated that land administration services—currently operational in 33 local levels—will be expanded to all remaining local levels.
The government had included the provision of land administration services directly from the local level as part of its 100-point agenda for governance reform. Prime Minister Shah noted that the process of transferring land administration services to local levels is being advanced in accordance with provisions set forth in the Constitution of Nepal, the Local Government Operation Act (2074 BS), and the Ordinance on Amending Certain Nepal Acts Related to Land (2083 BS). According to him, the process is being accelerated, and a decision has been made to ensure that land administration services are mandatorily implemented across all remaining local levels within the next month.
Prime Minister Shah affirmed that the Government of Nepal is committed to providing all necessary support to the local levels for this initiative.
