Kathmandu. With the aim of bringing journalists who are engaged in journalism in Nepali language across the country under one roof, the Newa Journalists National Association has organized the Bagmati Province Convention for the first time in Kathmandu.
The journalists participating in the convention from various districts of Bagmati Province have emphasized the need to move forward together for the protection, promotion and upliftment of Nepali language. They have said that such programs will play an important role in making journalism in Nepali language more systematic and effective.
The convention has unanimously passed the proposal of the Newa Journalists National Association to form a Bagmati Province Committee by encompassing eight districts within Bagmati Province.
The newly elected district councilors selected for the committee have been allowed to participate in the convention to be held in Gorkha on Bhadra 19 and 20 and share their views and suggestions.
The convention is expected to move forward more effectively for the institutional development of Nepali language journalism along with the rights, interests and capacity building of journalists.
