Kathmandu, Ashwin 6. Prime Minister Balendra Shah has assigned the responsibility of Acting Prime Minister to Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle, as he is set to travel to New York, USA, today to participate in the 81st United Nations General Assembly.
Prime Minister Shah is departing for New York this evening at 7:00 PM to attend the UN General Assembly. He had recommended to President Ramchandra Paudel that Finance Minister Wagle assume the role of Acting Prime Minister during his absence. Based on this recommendation, President Paudel has appointed Finance Minister Wagle as the Acting Prime Minister.
Prime Minister Shah is scheduled to address the United Nations General Assembly on Ashwin 8. The Prime Minister's Secretariat stated that he is scheduled to return to the country on Ashwin 10.
