The government is going to return the savings amount of the troubled cooperatives from the first week of upcoming Jeth. The problem-ridden cooperative management committee, which started working from Baisakh 9, has prepared to return the savings amount by collecting the necessary information of the cooperative and the saver. According to the study done by the committee, approximately Rs 4.6 billion of around 76,000 savers of the troubled cooperative needs to be returned. The committee has stated that most of them are small savers. Savers with less than Rs 5 lakh are classified as small savers and those with more than Rs 5 lakh as large savers. Out of the total 76,000, there are 18,000 who have saved more than Rs 5 lakh, according to committee member secretary Rabin Dhakal. Land Management, Cooperative and Poverty Alleviation Minister Pratibha Rawa informed that a lot of work has been done for the refund and now the refund work will start. The committee has stated that the work of returning the savings of the demanding savers will start from the first week of Jeth and the time to re-claim for the savers whose claims have been cleared will be opened in the first week of Shrawan. According to the committee, if the amount allocated by the Government of Nepal to the revolving fund is not sufficient, it will be spent only in proportion to the available amount in the committee's fund.
